Jille Belisario (Faculty) is speaking at the opening session and roundtable dialogues of the UN Summ

At the request of the Office of the President of the UN General Assembly, the UN Non-Governmental Liaison Service (UN-NGLS) and the UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UN DESA) facilitated a process to identify nine civil society speakers for the UN Summit for Refugees and Migrants: three for the opening session and one for each of the Summit's six roundtable dialogues. UN-NGLS facilitated a Civil Society Steering Committee to review more than 400 applications for the speaking roles and create a regionally and gender balanced short-list of candidates for the President of the General Assembly to consider. Jille Belisario is addressing "drivers of migration, particularly large movements, and highlighting the positive contributions of migrants".

Jille Belisario is a representing Commission for Filipino Migrant Workers (CFMW) and one of founding faculty members of Foundation University School of Integrated Human Rights based in Amsterdam. She lectures Integrated Human Rights at Foundation University.
