Ruïe-Jalo Wijnschenk: Our New Intern
The Foundation Academy of Amsterdam is pleased to welcome Ruïe-Jalo Wijnschenk as our new intern for the upcoming period. We are excited to have her as a part of our team.
Here is what she has written about herself:
"My name is Ruïe-Jalo Wijnschenk, I am 24 years old and I have the honour to be the new intern at The Foundation Academy of Amsterdam for the coming months. After learning about the mission of The Foundation Academy I was immediately drawn in by the ideology-driven ambitions of this organisation, which perfectly align with my own ideals and beliefs, and the committed and enthusiastic team of volunteers. This internship is part of my master’s programme ‘Peace, Trauma and Religion’ at the Faculty of Religion and Theology at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. Cultural diversity as well as structural issues of deprivation and inequality have been recurring themes during my past internships and voluntary work, experiences which have motivated me continuously to strive for a more just world, which has now led me to The Foundation Academy.
The Foundation Academy aims to expand their funding in order to expand their reach by enhancing their programs and resources and to ultimately reach more individuals in need of their support. To assist the Foundation Academy with their fundraising activities I will focus on the visibility and the presentation of the core-message of the organization during my internship. Furthermore, I will assist Mikkie van der Mik in the development process of a new multidisciplinary course on Grassroots Journalism."
