Wilson Bento, New Coordinator for the School of Divinity

Foundation Academy is proud to welcome Wilson Bento (Ph.D. Candidate) as newly appointed coordinator for the School of Divinity.

Born in São Paulo, Brazil from missionary parents, Wilson lived his childhood in Brazil where his parents worked as missionaries with street kids in downtown São Paulo for several years. At thirteen years of age, Wilson had his first immigrant experience in 1999 as his family moved to the United States. Wilson lived in the U.S. from 1999 to 2008, where he experienced life as a legal and illegal immigrant. Back in Brazil after this period, now married, Wilson obtained his bachelor degree in Theology at Southern Presbyterian Seminary (Seminário Presbiteriano do Sul). In 2016, Wilson moved to the Netherlands to pursue his Masters and PhD degree at Vrije Universiteit with his wife Elizabeth and their two children, Sophia and Gabriel. In 2019, along with two scholars from Brazil, he co-authored “Galatians: A Literary-Pastoral Commentary” published by Fonte Editorial. Currently, he is doing his PhD research in Literary Analysis of the book of Revelation at Vrije Universiteit. He is also a researcher at the Interdisciplinary Nucleus of Protestant Studies at Universidade Presbiteriana Mackenzie in São Paulo. Wilson is working as a volunteer staff member.
