Merve Tiregul: Our New Team at School of Global Studies

Foundation Academy proudly welcomes Merve Tiregul as our new colleague at the School of Global Studies. Merve is joining the voluntary* academic team at the School of Global Studies to develop a new course on sustainability and create interdisciplinary Climate Talk programs at the Foundation Academy of Amsterdam.

Here's what Merve has to say about herself:

"My name is Merve Tiregul, and I am thrilled to be a part of The Foundation Academy of Amsterdam. I have a strong passion for political science and its connection to climate change and sustainability. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Political Science from the University of Paris I: Panthéon-Sorbonne, where I acquired a solid foundation in the field. Building upon that, I pursued a Master's degree in Political Science at VU Amsterdam, specializing in Global Environmental Governance and Sustainability. During my Master's program, I conducted extensive research on environmental justice and the impacts of waste trade on developing countries for my thesis. Through my studies, I have developed a profound understanding of the relationship between politics and the environment, and I hope to utilize this knowledge to make a meaningful contribution to The Foundation Academy's mission.”

*All the staff of Foundation Academy of Amsterdam are volunteer scholars and professionals who believe in the mission of Foundation Academy of Amsterdam.
