Theme of the Year: Hope and the Political Imagination: Living for a Better World

The Foundation Academy of Amsterdam warmly invites you to the Opening of the Academic Year 2025–2026, taking place during our Graduation & Open Day on Saturday, 13 September 2025 at the Charity House, 3rd Floor, Bijlmerdreef 1239, 1103 TX Amsterdam.

This year’s opening will be marked an inspiring keynote from Prof. Dr. Dion A. Forster, University Research Professor in Public Theology and Ethics at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam and Extraordinary Professor at Stellenbosch University.

Prof. Forster will invite us to see the world not only as it is, but as it could be—imagining new possibilities for justice, reconciliation, and human dignity. Born in Zimbabwe, raised in South Africa, and serving as an ordained minister in the Methodist Church of Southern Africa, he brings a rich global perspective shaped by scholarship, lived experience, and a deep commitment to the common good.
